Community Guidelines

SkillSplore works because people are straight with each other. These guidelines apply to profiles, requests, responses, messages, reviews and every other part of the platform.
Be respectful
Treat people the way you would in a classroom or a workshop. Disagreement is fine. Contempt is not.
Not acceptable: insults, mockery, sexual comments, intimidation, or pressure of any kind.
Be honest
Describe your experience, qualifications and rates accurately. If you have not taught something before, it is entirely fine to say so — misrepresenting it is not.
Do not claim a verification you do not hold, or imply an affiliation with an institution you are not affiliated with.
Communicate appropriately
Keep first contact on the platform. It gives both of you a record if something goes wrong.
Be clear about price, scope and timing before a session, not after.
Do not send unsolicited bulk messages, or repeatedly contact someone who has stopped replying.
Respect privacy
Only ask for the information you actually need to arrange learning.
Do not publish anyone else's personal information — their address, phone number, workplace, school, or photograph — without their agreement. Do not share the content of a private message publicly.
Reviews
Review the interaction you actually had. Do not write a review for a session that did not happen, do not pay for or sell reviews, and do not use the threat of a bad review to get something.
Children
If a session involves someone under 18, an adult arranges it and stays responsible for it.
Do not seek private contact with a child outside the arrangement made by their parent or guardian. Do not ask a child for personal contact details, photographs or their location.
Anything that looks like grooming, exploitation or abuse will be removed, escalated and referred to the authorities.
No discrimination
Do not refuse, restrict or degrade service on the basis of race, colour, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital or family status, disability, or age — except where the law expressly permits it.
No harassment
Repeated unwanted contact, sexual harassment, stalking, doxxing and threats are all grounds for immediate removal.
No spam
Do not use the platform to advertise unrelated products, recruit for schemes, or drive traffic elsewhere.
Reporting
Every profile, request, response, message and review can be reported. Use the report button — it reaches the moderation queue with the context attached, which an email does not.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
What happens if you breach these guidelines
Depending on severity we may warn you, restrict visibility of your content, remove content, limit your access to features, suspend your account, terminate it, or refer the matter to the police. See the Terms of Use, section 16.
