Prohibited and Restricted Services

Part A — Prohibited outright

These may never be offered or requested on SkillSplore. Listings are removed and accounts are usually terminated. Some are referred to the police.

Involving children Any sexual content involving a minor, or any attempt to obtain it. Grooming, or seeking private contact with a child outside a parent's or guardian's arrangement. Any service designed to give an adult unsupervised private access to a child contrary to our Safety Policy.

Sexual services Sexual services of any kind, escorting, or companionship with a sexual element, however described. Sexualised "coaching", "tuition" or "modelling" offers.

Violence and extremism Instruction intended to facilitate violence against people. Weapons or explosives manufacture. Extremist or terrorist training, recruitment or propaganda.

Harm Instruction or encouragement facilitating suicide or self-harm. Instruction facilitating an eating disorder.

Crime Supply of controlled drugs, or instruction in manufacturing them. Fraud, identity theft, money laundering, or instruction in committing them. Malware authoring, unauthorised system access, or instruction in it against systems the learner does not own or have written permission to test. Forging documents, qualifications or identification. Circumventing immigration, tax or benefit rules unlawfully.

Academic Completing assessed work for submission as someone else's own. Examination impersonation.

Platform abuse Fake profiles, fake reviews, review trading. Harvesting other users' personal data. Scraping or building a competing dataset from the platform. Evading a suspension.

Regulated professional practice that cannot lawfully be delivered this way Prescribing medicine, or diagnosing or treating a medical condition. Delivering psychological therapy for a diagnosed condition where the law requires a registered practitioner. Anything requiring a licence the person does not hold, where a licence cannot be obtained for delivery in this format.

Part B — Restricted: allowed only with the right credentials

These may be offered, but the provider must hold and — on request — evidence the licence, registration or certification the law requires. We may ask before publishing, and may remove a listing pending evidence. Medical, nursing, midwifery or allied-health instruction. Psychology, counselling and mental-health support. Legal advice or drafting. Financial advice, investment advice, mortgage or insurance advice. Accounting and tax advice. Electrical work. Plumbing and gasfitting. Building, structural and trades work requiring a licensed practitioner. Childcare and early childhood education. First aid and CPR certification (teaching the skill informally is fine; issuing a recognised certificate requires accreditation). Driving instruction. Firearms instruction. Diving, climbing, aviation and other hazardous-sport instruction. Food handling certification. Personal training where a registration scheme applies. Cosmetic tattooing, microblading, and other regulated beauty procedures.

Part C — Judgement calls

Some categories are allowed but sit close to a line, and are moderated more closely: alternative and complementary practices; esoteric and spiritual practice taught as tradition, craft or interest; nutrition guidance short of clinical dietetics; and anything making claims about health outcomes.

The rule for all of these: teach it as a skill or a tradition, do not make therapeutic claims, and do not tell anyone to stop following medical advice.
